         What happens when evidence supporting allegations of a pattern of illegal conduct by a firm is brought to the attention of the Department of Justice, but the lawyer in charge of things at the DOJ happened to have been a partner in the same firm at the time of the conduct ?

Here is the original page showing the resume of Colm F. Connolly at the DOJ, if they haven't taken it down.  Mr. Connolly has prosecuted many cases, albiet with some controversy.  Apparantly he now desires to become a judge.
